On 13th of September 2006 in Hilton Sofia was held a Workshop on EU Accession and Required Regulatory Activities. The participants discussed topics regarding the regulatory activities, which authorities and industry need to undertake prior to Bulgaria's accession to EU, as well as improving the cooperation and dialogue between the companies and the agency. Speakers from EMEA, BDA, EFPIA took part in the event. The participants were greeted welcome on behalf of Ministry of Health by Dr. Svetlana Spasova, Director National Health Policy department.

Representatives of the national regulatory authorities and the pharmaceutical industry agreed that joint efforts and cooperation are needed to overcome the pre-accession regulatory challenges in order to guarantee stability in the medicines supply in Bulgaria and the smooth incorporation to the European regulatory requirements.
