Mr. Deyan Denev

BOARD MEMBER

Mr. Deyan Denev has been the Director of ARPharM since October 2003. Lawyer by education, graduated from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, expert in pharmaceutical legislation and drug policy. As Director of the association, he leads the activities of the pharmaceutical research-based industry on key issues concerning drug policy and regulations, intellectual property and the development of the pharmaceutical market. Deyan Denev is a member of the Transparency Commission as a representative of the pharmaceutical industry in Bulgaria from 2008 to 2013 and represents the Confederation of Industrialists and Employers in Bulgaria in the Supervisory Board of the NHIF from January 2014 to January 2015.

He is a member of the Special Working Group for Central and Eastern Europe of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations and Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Medicines Verification Organisation (BgMVO) in 2021.

Mr. Todor Kesimov is General Manager of Takeda Bulgaria EOOD. He joins Takeda in 2012 and since then he has been assigned at various positions in the field of finance and logistics in Takeda’s representative office in Bulgaria, as well as with responsibilities for various neighbouring countries. In the period 2017-2018 Mr Kesimov leads Takeda’s Finance department for the Balkan region. Since the beginning of 2018 Mr Kesimov is General Manager of Takeda’s representative office in Bulgaria. Currently, after Takeda acquired Shire, Todor Kesimov is General Manager of Takeda Bulgaria EOOD. Since the beginning of 2023 he is General Manager of Takeda for Romania and Bulgaria.

Todor has graduated from Regent's Business School London in 2007, BA in International Business and Finance.

Since 2020 Todor Kesimov is a member of the Management board of the Japan-Bulgaria Business Association

Boryana Alexieva M.D - Janssen/ Johnson and Johnson

BOARD MEMBER

Boryana Alexieva M.D is Government Affairs Patient engagement and advocacy Lead, Janssen – Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson

25 years of experience in many areas of healthcare, including pioneering and setting up a business for international innovative companies for medical devices and equipment in Bulgaria, as well as their implementation and management. She has held various positions in the pharmaceutical industry and extensive consulting experience. Experience in government structures related to the economics of healthcare and reimbursement, healthcare management, public health.

She has a master's degree in human medicine from the Medical University in Bulgaria, a degree in mathematics, as well as master's degree in healthcare management.

Mr. Pavel Kolev - AbbVie Bulgaria

BOARD MEMBER

Pavel Kolev has been named Country Lead of AbbVie Bulgaria on June 1st, 2022. He joined AbbVie in 2012 as product (brand) manager. After that he became Business Unit Manager in Bulgarian affiliate and in 2016, he was promoted as Commercial Manager in the Area team of AbbVie EEMEA. Three years after that he stepped up as Associate Commercial Director in the same Area team. In 2020 Pavel Kolev joined Global Commercial Team of AbbVie.  Before the position of Country Lead in Bulgaria he was Business Unit Director, Immunology of AbbVie in Russia. Before joining AbbVie Pavel Kolev held different sales and marketing positions in AstraZeneca Bulgaria. Pavel Kolev has Master of Science degree in Pharmacy from Medical University in Sofia.

Mr. Hesham Sabry - Roche Bulgaria

BOARD MEMBER

Hesham Sabry has more than twenty years of experience in the healthcare industry .He has been the General Manager of Roche Bulgaria since April 2021.He joined Roche Saudi Arabia in 2015 and did multiple assignments related to local and global roles .His latest role before joining Roche Bulgaria has been the General Manager of Roche in the Levant Countries ( Lebanon, Jordan, Syria & Palestine) based in Beirut, Lebanon.

He is a management board member of the ARPharM since May 2021. He is also a member of the Movement Health 2030 European Board since December 2022 (Representing Roche in Europe).

He is a pharmacist who graduated from Cairo University , Egypt in 2002. Later in 2010, he received his master's degree in business administration from Leicester University in the United Kingdom.

Maria Lukanova - Bayer Bulgaria

BOARD MEMBER

Maria Lukanova has been the Market Access Manager of Bayer Bulgaria Ltd. for the last ten years. She has gained extensive experience in various sales and marketing roles in the pharmaceutical sector over the last twenty years. In 2022, she was elected Co-Chair of the Healthcare SC of the GBITC. In May 2023, she was elected to the Board of ARPharM.

Maria holds a Master's Degree in Special Education from Sofia University, a Master's Degree in International Economic Relations from the UNWE, and a Master's Degree in Health Technology Assessment and Pharmacoeconomics from Medical Academy Sofia.

Mr. Krum Kassabov - Novo Nordisk

BOARD MEMBER

Krum is a Medical Doctor, graduated from the Medical Faculty of the Medical University in Sofia. In addition he has a PHD in “Immunotherapy of Cancer” from the National Oncology Centre. Krum also holds an MBA from the University of Sheffield with a dissertation on Genеral Management and employee engagement.

Krum has joined Novo Nordisk in March 1995 on the position of Medical Representative, then in 1997 was promoted to the position of Product Manager. In January 2000 Krum took over the next challenge of his career, to lead the Novo Nordisk team in Bulgaria as a General Manager. After many successful years of leading the Novo Nordisk business in Bulgaria, in 2008, Krum was trusted to provide leadership also to neighbouring countries such as Serbia (2008-2011), Macedonia (2011-2012), Bosnia & Herzegovina, Albania & Kosovo (2011-2018). Currently Krum is responsible for Bulgaria and the South Balkan Cluster (North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo).

Dr. Stamen Bankovski - Astellas Bulgaria

VICE-CHAIRPERSON

Dr. Stamen Bankovski General Manager, Astellas Pharma for Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania. Shortly after graduating in 1995 the Medical university in Sofia, he started a long and successful career in the Pharma industry.

He gained wealth of experience in various sales and marketing roles, as well as market access & governmental affairs in several large International pharma companies. Since 2011 as Country or General manager he has led several organizations with increasing complexity.

In 2020, being among the founders of the Japan-Bulgaria Business Association, Dr. Bankovski was elected Deputy Chairman of the JBBA. In May 2022 he has been elected Chairman of the Managing board of ARPharM.
