At the regular reporting and election General Assembly of the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in Bulgaria (ARPharM), held on May 14, 2025, changes to the composition of the Managing Board were voted on.

Mr. Pavel Kolev, General Manager of AbbVie Bulgaria, was elected Chairperson of the Association. The current chairman, Mr. Todor Kesimov, General Manager of Takeda Bulgaria EOOD, was elected Deputy Chairperson.

The newly elected members of the Managing Board are: Assoc. Prof. Svetoslav Tsenov, Executive Director of Astellas for Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, and Greece; Dr. Alexander Marinov, General Manager for Bulgaria at Swixx BioPharma; and Ms. Kristina Polany, Director of Public Affairs at Novo Nordisk.

Dr. Boryana Aleksieva, Head of Governmental Affairs, Institutional Relations, and Patient Organizations at Johnson & Johnson, and Ms. Gergana Pencheva, Manager of Institutional Relations and Market Access at AstraZeneca Bulgaria, will retain their current positions as members of the Association’s governing body.

Ms. Milena Organdzhieva, Managing Director of MSD for Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania, was elected as the new Controller of ARPharM.

The newly elected Managing Board and the Executive Director of the Association, Mr. Deyan Denev, will continue their active dialogue and cooperation with institutions and sector partners, focusing on achieving sustainable development of the healthcare system and improving Bulgarian patients’ access to modern prevention, diagnostics, and treatment.
